Welcome to Inspired by Stamping’s last release of 2016! We are so happy you are here. This week Inspired by Stamping is releasing 3 new stamp sets to their store. All new products are already available in the store! You can visit us by clicking here!
I had the pleasure of working with the “Snowflake Wonder” stamp set. There are so many great techniques and designs you can use this stamp set with. For my first card I created a custom background by repeatedly stamping the snowflakes in a random pattern with Versamark Ink. I stamped on watercolor paper and heat embossed the snowflakes with white embossing powder. This allowed me to do a bit some emboss resist with Picked Raspberry and Evergreen Bough Distress Inks! The great thing about this card design is you can customize it to your liking. You can go the more traditional route with red and green or choose any number of colors to match your Christmas style! I also splattered on a bit of Perfect Pearls mixed with water for some added texture and shine!!
The sentiment in the Snowflake Wonder set was perfect for some selective stamping. Using my MISTI I stamped the sentiment first with black ink and made sure when I inked the stamp “Christmas” was masked off. I stamped it down onto a white circle die cut. Then I inked up only Christmas with hot pink dye ink and stamped it down. This resulted in a two tone sentiment! I applied a hot pink frame around the circle, again I die cut this with circle dies, and adhered everything together with double sided adhesive and white fun foam!
For my second card I also did some heat embossing, but this with silver embossing powder and on vellum. I first stamped the “Noel” sentiment on top of A2 white top folding card base with Versamark and heat embossed the sentiments with silver EP. I cut off the bottom off of the front panel and ran the top leftover through my die cutting machine with a stitched line die. After repeatedly stamping the snowflakes on vellum and heat embossing them with the same silver embossing powder I attached the vellum to the front of the card base with double sided adhesive. This allows you to see through to the inside of the card!
On the inside of the card I chose to use a dark blue card stock and again, I added stitching lines on both sides with a die. I then used the larger sentiment in the Snowflake Wonder stamp set to stamp on the inside of the card and then heat embossed with silver. I adhered the panel inside the card with double sided adhesive.
