All of the new stamp and die sets from Craftin’ Desert Divas have officially been released!! I will be sharing a few final projects across social media today, but I wanted to share these cards with you today along with the video tutorial on putting this (small) card set using the brand new Panda Holidays and Stitched Box Die together. On these cards I used the brand new box die and I really wanted to share with you how to put it together. It is pretty easy and self explanatory, however, it’s always the simple dies I can’t seem to figure out sometimes. (Then I do a face palm to the head when I finally get it right!) You can watch the video tutorial to see exactly how to put these cards and the brand Craftin’ Desert Divas Box Die together!
I started by first stamping three of the pandas from the brand new Panda Holidays stamp set. I stamped each one twice and then very quickly colored them in with my alcohol markers. There isn’t a lot to color and the images are small so this was a pretty quick process! I then fussy cut each panda. If you have an electronic cutting machine, Craftin’ Desert Divas does have SVG files for all their stamps, but I don’t so I hand cut each stamp. Then, I brought out my die cutting machine. I cut two white large rectangles from the Crazy Stitched Frames Die Set and I also cut of the Stitched Box Dies from kraft card stock.
I highly suggest watching the video tutorial above to see how I put together the boxes. Some things are better explained through video!! After putting the two boxes together I stamped sentiments onto each white rectangle die cut using the Wishful Thoughts Stamp Set and black die ink. I also used my MISTI so each sentiment would be perfectly stamped and exactly the same on each panel. Then it was time to start putting the cards together!
First. I popped the white rectangles onto A2 top folding white card bases using double sided adhesive and fun foam. Then, using double sided adhesive I adhered the assembled boxes onto the top center of each panel. Because there is some dimension to these boxes a bit of extra adhesive is a good idea! Finally, I filled up the boxes with the three little pandas, using double sided adhesive to secure them in place. I also adhered the little heart balloon above the middle panda and then drew back in the string with a micron pen for the finishing touch!
This set of birthday cards was a lot of fun to make! I love interactive dies that work with any stamp set and the new Stitched Box Die definitely fits that bill! I loved adding the little panda from the Panda Holidays stamp set, but you could add any critter, item, etc. you want! The possibilities are endless!
