Simply a Card + CDDMonthly

I hope everyone has had a chance to enter a card of your own into the Craftin Desert Divas Monthly Challenge! If not you still have a few days left to make a project of your own and enter it into the challenge. Just be sure to the #cddmonthly tag so we can find and comment on your project! Today, I have another Simply a Card video for you all sharing how I created my card, using the Apple of My Eye digital stamp and the mood board as inspiration! You can find that below! Also, be sure to head over the Craftin Desert Divas Facebook Group and join in on the fun!!

ENJOY!!

After printing off the digital stamp and the sentiment, I die cut both using the Stitched In Circles Die Set (the largest stitched circle) for the image, and the smallest stitched rectangle from the Fancy Frames Die Set. I did use my laser printer to print off the image and the sentiment so I would be able to use my alcohol markers to color in the image. Because I did use my laser printer, the lines did need a bit of darkening when I was finished coloring, so I used my Micron pen to go over all of the lines in the image and the sentiment. This is also a great way to cover up any little coloring mistakes!

Finished Card 2

To make a little scene around the squirrel image I brought out my Distress Inks in Salty Ocean and Mowed Lawn, mini ink blending tool, and a stencil I made from computer paper and the grass border die included in the Outdoor Landscape 2 Die Set. This is one of my favorite ways to stretch the use of my dies! I tend to use computer paper for quick and disposable stencils, however, you could always use acetate for a multi use stencil that you can clean and reuse!

Finished Card 1

With my scene all finished it was time to start putting the card together. I die cut a scalloped circle card  base (be sure to watch the video tutorial above) and adhered the circle scene using fun foam and double sided adhesive. On the inside of the card I adhered the sentiment rectangle that I had colored red using distress inks as well. To completely finish off the card and dress it up a bit, I added a few dots of Rangers Enamel Accents in Glacier White!

Finished Card 3

I hope you all have went over and take a look at the mood board and started making a project to enter into the challenge! The 1st place winner will receive a $15 Gift Card to the CDD Shop, so you definitely don’t want to miss out!! (There’s also a second and third place winner as well!!
