I am really enjoying my journaling time. I get to be a bit more experimental and use products in different ways and while I still love cardmaking, journaling challenges me a bit more and really allows me to play! For today’s journaling page I am using a Joy Clair stamp set from their Color by Faith Series called Joyful Noise. This set of course would be perfect for a music lovers card just by switching in any sentiment, so even if you aren’t into journaling, this is still a great set to own! Be sure to watch the video tutorial below for all the details on how I put this page together!
To start this page I stamped a background using all the single musical notes in the set and a very light taupe dye ink (Desert Sand from Memento). I wanted the background behind additional stamping to resemble a sheet of music, but also be very faint so I tried to match the ink color pretty closely to the color of my Bibles pages. Also, after stamping several of the rows of notes one by one I found it was quite a bit faster to lay out all of the stamps/notes that would be in the row and then pick them all up at once on an acrylic block and stamp it down in one go.
When I was happy with the background I brought out my “Sweet Plum” Memento Dye Ink and stamped my sentiments “Make A JoyFul Noise Unto The Lord” and “Your Praise Will Ever Be On My Lips” on the top and bottom of the margin not worrying about if it covered or ran into any of the background notes. My next stamp was the guitar in the center of the sentiments. I used waterproof black dye ink and then proceeded to watercolor in my image with my Distress Markers in Vintage Photo, Tumbled Glass, Wild Honey, and Seedless Preserves.
To finish off this page, after allowing the watercolor to dry completely, I applied some Enamel Accents. I scattered a few droplets around the guitar image and also applied some over the decorations on the guitar to help them stand out! The Enamel Accents allow me to add embellishment to my pages, without a lot of dimension so I absolutely loved the way this worked!!
This was my second Bible Journaling page and it was really a giant experiment. For my first time watercoloring on the Bible Pages, I was pleasantly surprised with how it turned out. After adding the watercolor it blended in the background notes, but also intensified them as well for a very nice effect!
