Bible Journaling Mark 16 – My Redeemer

Hello Everyone! I hope you all are enjoying the hop today and collecting all of the key words!! If this is the first post you’re reading, be sure to start at the very beginning of the hop and work your way through. Today, each of the Joy Clair Stamps DT is using the new My Redeemer Stamp Set, which is part of the Color by Faith Series. We are all making different projects, the only catch is it CANNOT be a card or bookmark, so I chose to do a bit of Bible Journaling! On each of the DT member’s blogs we have a “keyword” so as your go through the list be sure to write each of these words down in order and when you are through the blog hop you should have a complete sentence! Be sure to leave that sentence in the comments below (or any other DT’s blog post) and you will be entered into a drawing for a $25 Gift Card to the Joy Clair Shop!! The winner will be announced at the end of this month, so have fun hopping along!! Be sure to watch the video tutorial below to see how I used the “My Redeemer” stamp set to put together this fun, bright, and colorful Bible Journal Page!

ENJOY!!

Of course the entire DT is using the same “My Redeemer” stamp set so beginning with that set, I started stamping out my scene on the bottom of my Bible page. I used black waterproof dye ink, because I knew I would be using my watercolors on this page. Also, I made masks for each of the images I was using in this set so I could easily mask off all of my stamped images later on in the process. Finally I used my Micron Pen to add a horizon line across the entire page for an easy masking point and to finish off the scene.

Finished Project 4

Using my Sakura Koi Sketchbox Watercolor set, I did a bit of watercolor to color in all of stamped images. Because I was working on such thin Bible Pages, I worked in layers, with very little water, and very quickly worked with the colors so I wouldn’t have any harsh lines. So after a few layers and giving each some dry time and plenty of time for everything to dry in the final stage, I applied my masks and also masked all of the area underneath the horizon line that I drew in.

Finished Project 2

To add a sunrise behind my stamped images, I pulled out my Distress Ink Pads and mini ink blending tool. After searching a few sunrise pictures on Google I started with a bit of Mustard Seed and working in a half oval I then blended on Spiced Marmalade, moved onto Picked Raspberry, then Seedless Preserves, and finally Hickory Smoke. Because I did use Distress Inks (which react very easily with any sort of water) I wanted to seal everything into place so there was absolutely no transfer. To do this I used Multi Medium Matte and an old paint brush, making sure to apply it in horizontal strokes, so there was no cross contamination of colors.

I hope you will continue hopping along to see all of the other fantastic projects the Joy Clair Stamps Design Team has created with the fantastic My Redeemer Stamp Set! And if you want to start from the beginning, you can find the full linked up list directly below!
