Ink Mixing & No Line Watercolor

Awhile back a cardmaking friend of mine, Terri Albro Burson, had a tutorial on her blog sharing how to do a bit of ink mixing and create some really creamy watercolor and after seeing the new challenge inspiration picture from Joy Clair Stamps I knew I wanted to try it for myself! After getting the OK from Terri to share the tutorial in my own video tutorial, I got to work making this fun summer inspired card. Be sure to watch the video tutorial below to see exactly how I achieved this look with some ink mixing, no line watercolor, and a little “stamp surgery” as well! And be sure to head over to Terri’s blog and social media platforms as well! She is always sharing creative, fun, and fabulous projects every day!

ENJOY!!

Finished Card 2

For my card today I used the Dad’s Day stamp set and did a bit of “stamp surgery” to remove the face from the ice cream. After stamping a background on watercolor paper with Antique Linen Distress Ink, I mixed different colors of Distress Ink and white pigment ink for a creamy watercolor that perfectly matched the inspiration picture! I used the mixed ink to do a bit of no line watercolor to complete the background

Finished Card 3

To finish this card I die cut different layers and put them together with double sided adhesive. I also added a “hello” sentiment from the Hello Sentiments Stamp Set and heat embossed in gold glitter. To highlight the sentiment I also added a few gold sequins as a finishing touch!
