Hello Everyone and welcome to my little blog!! My name is Lindsay and I am part of the Joy Clair Design Team and I am so excited to be hopping along with the Coffee Loving Cardmakers DT today, sharing some coffee inspired creations! Today I have a video tutorial sharing exactly how I put my card together, and also sharing a “stamp surgery” technique! If cutting your stamps makes you a little queasy, don’t worry! You can always mount them back together or not cut them at all and get creative with the partial stamping technique!

For my card today I am using the “Coffee Quotes” Stamp Set from Joy Clair. This set is full of coffee and tea inspired sentiments, but I just want to use the little coffee cup and create a background, or essentially, my own patterned paper. Stamping out and creating my own backgrounds is one of my favorite techniques and saves me a TON of space in my tiny crafting closet (no need to store patterned paper)! I like to use a small, sharp pair of scissors and be sure to watch the tutorial above. Cutting stamps that don’t have a lot of space between images and words can get a bit tricky, but I do have a little tip to make it doable!

All of my stamping was done with Versafine Onyx Black, but if you want to replicate this card, don’t use that ink! I didn’t listen to my own advice and think through my design and what coloring medium I would be using. Because I’m lazy, short on time, I kept going and just stayed clear of the black ink when coloring with my alcohol markers. Had I thought this through, I would’ve grabbed my Memento Tuxedo Black Ink Pad for my background stamping and kept the Versafine Onyx Black for my sentiment, which is also from the Coffee Quotes stamp set.

Can you guess where my color inspiration came from?? I used a dark green mat for my sentiment and background to add a bit of color. And for embellishment, I added some kraft die cut hearts and a few dots of Enamel Accents in Potting Soil.
