Bible Journaling & Card Making with One Design

Have you ever done any journaling, in your Bible or scrapbooking and really loved the design so much you didn’t want to just keep it for yourself? That happened when I was journaling with the “Hosanna” stamp set from Joy Clair. I was so happy with the results, I really wanted to transfer the design to a card so I could share it with others! I videoed the process of both to share with you today and hopefully encourage you to transfer some of your favorite designs onto different types of projects! You can watch the entire video tutorial down below!

As I said above, I started with the intentions of just journaling in my Bible with this set. I started by stamping the Hosanna word in Perfect Plumeria Versamagic (a chalk ink). Then, around the word, I stamped the leaf with two different tones of green chalk ink. Finally, I stamped “in the highest” with the darkest shade of green to complete this super simple journaling page!

Here’s a look at the back side of the page. This was the first time I used chalk inks in my Bible journaling and wanted to record the results of the bleed through. I did not prep my page with any gesso or other medium.

I LOVED the design of this page and really wanted to transfer it to a card design as well! For the card I stamped the leaf, again with two different tones of green ink, on the top and bottom of a strip of cardstock leaving the center open. You could use the same Hosanna stamp set to stamp down a sentiment, but I thought this design would really well for a sympathy card, plus it fit all of my guidelines for a sympathy card (easy, quick, but still beautiful!). I pulled out my Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set and stamped a Praying for You sentiment in the Perfect Plumeria ink. To finish off the design I added a few drops of Enamel Accents in Potting soil.

As many of your know, I always try to decorate the inside of my cards. I used the Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set again to stamp a lovely verse and then the leaf again, with the same two green inks, to add that final touch!

Here’s a look at both the Bible journaling and card designs side by side! I LOVE both of them and am so glad I decided to use the design on more than one project!!

I hope you all enjoyed today video! I had such a fun time journaling and making this card and couldn’t be happier with the results! This is definitely one that is easy enough for beginners or if you are in need of multiples card it would be so easy to stamp a ton of these! If you are interested in any of the supplies I used on my card or in my journaling today, you can find them all listed and linked down below! Happy Crafting, everyone!!
