Inspired by Stamping New Release Day 3 – Happy

Today the DT is focusing on the brand new Happy Stamp & Die Set. I LOVE THIS SET!!!! It has every sentiment you’re going to need to pair with happy – birthday, wedding, anniversary, and even holidays like Fourth of July!!! And I am loving these word dies! There are so many fun techniques you can use with these new stamp and die sets. Here’s a look at my two cards using these brand new products!!!

For my first card I combined the brand new Happy Stamp and Die Set with the older Polka Dots Stamp Set. Like I said above, you can combine the word Happy with so many other sentiments included in the stamp set, and the one I chose to use on this card was Birthday.

One of my favorite technique to use with word die cuts is to build and layer them up to create a faux chipboard look. For the balloons I used the solid dots, both the large and small, with purple, pink and yellow dye inks. To create the highlights, I used a white gel pen and for the strings, a black Micron pen. Also, I wanted to add a soft glow of color in the background. For that I used Cracked Pistacchio Distress Ink.

For my second card I actually used both the “Happy” Stamp & Die together. By stamping the happy first and then overlaying a colored die cut, slightly offset I ended up with a fun shadow effect. I used a gray dye ink for the stamping and a mixture of pastel colored card stock for the die cuts.

I also stamped the “Do What Makes You” Sentiment on flag banner and layered up the cardstocks for more interest and dimension on this CAS Card. Here’s a close up photo of the shadow effect I achieved with layering the stamp and die.
