As with every Joy Clair Stamps Challenge there is an optional theme and this month’s is   –Stencil It–

Be sure and visit the Joy Clair Stamps Blog for all the details and rules or you can watch the video tutorial below!

For my card I wanted to create a very “graphic” and bold card like the picture above, but I did add in some color. I first die cut several circles into computer paper squares. These circles were going to be my homemade stencils. I made sure to match the size of the circles to fit solid leaf stamps in the Fall Leaves Stamp Set that I would be using later on. With my homemade stencils, I sponged through some different colors of Distress Inks onto an A2 top folding card base.

In each one of the circles that I stenciled on, I matched the leaf that fit inside and stamped it in black dye ink for that really bold and graphic design. I did use my MISTI (stamp positioner) to do all of the leaf stamps so I could double, and sometimes triple, stamp all the leaf stamps so they were nice and dark.

Finished Card 1

To finish this card, I added the “fall blessing” sentiment included in the set to the bottom right hand corner. After attaching a baker’s twine bow to the top of the matted sentiment, this card was complete!!
